Website Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you get in touch with us via email and/or phone, or if you visit us within our Chapel Allerton showroom, we may collect data from you such as your name, email address, contact number and any other enquiry details you provide.

Your personal data is safely stored in our Company Database (ACT) which is saved within our Google Drive File Stream, and on an external hard-drive. This is to ensure that it is stored securely and is accessible to our team. You can see Google’s Privacy Policy here.

Card payments are processed through WorldPay via a PDQ machine. They are processed either over the phone with a member of staff, or in person whilst in our Chapel Allerton showroom with a member of staff. To process a card payment, we need your debit/credit card details and address details. You can see WorldPay’s Privacy Notice here.

We also have an alternative payment option available which is processed through Hitachi Finance. This process is done alongside one of our jewellers whilst in our Chapel Allerton showroom. You can see Hitachi’s Privacy Policy here.

By default, WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your personal details are securely stored within our Company Database (ACT) indefinitely, unless otherwise specified by you to a member of staff. We will delete your personal details record from our Database only when requested by you.

Records from our website analytics are securely stored indefinitely to enable us to asses our website functioning, usability and efficiency. Some details from our website analytics may also assist us with product promotions.

Customer purchase records are stored for a minimum of ten years in accordance with our administrative and accounting responsibilities. We will not be able to remove your personal details (name, address, contact number) from your invoice paperwork within this timeframe.
